I made it to G42 in Mijas, Spain almost a week ago. The first few days I was able to rest and explore the town as more interns arrived. We are living in a beautiful white-washed village on a mountain that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. It is unreal. I don't know if I will ever get used to the views. We officially began classes on Tuesday. This week of class looks a lot like getting to know the staff, each other, and what the rest of the 9 months will look like. Next week to start off our first real week of non-stop teachings, we will be going camping! I am thoroughly enjoying life here with this wonderful community. I can tell these next 9 months are going to be hard at times, but oh so rewarding. And I honestly am excited to dive headfirst into what He has for me during my time in Mijas. For those of you who do not know, the first and last 3 months of the program are spent here in Mijas taking classes and living in community. The middle 3 months are our practicum. So, the 10 of us are split between 4 places to live out what we have learned here at G42. The 4 options were Memphis, TN, Harrisburg, PA, Thailand, and Uganda. I and 2 other girls have been placed in Aura, Uganda. As interns we will be "partnering with Adventures in Missions to help pioneer a long term base in Uganda to support refugees located near Aura, Uganda. The goal is to provide life saving and educational services as well as spiritual and mental counseling.[We] will be among the first members of this team to show up and support the newly birthed efforts of local partners and pastors. This practicum is real life training for both long term missions, as well as crisis leadership. [We] will need to balance the immense need and challenge of day to day life, while forming [our] own community pace of life together." Thank you all so much for you continued support! Because of you, I am over halfway funded! I am in need of $4,000 more to be fully funded for the entire 9 months, so if you would like to support me in this next journey, you can click the "donate" link in the top right corner of this website.
Thanks, Hannah

Heyyyoo! As many of you might already know, starting in October I will be moving to Spain. Whether I have personally been able to talk to you about my past year on the World Race or you have kept up with my journey through social media, you probably haven't heard the whole story. So, I want to share with you the behind the scenes of my heart, so bear with me.
For as long as I can remember the Lord has laid it on my heart to travel and share the good news of Christ with others. Even from when I was little, I said I wanted to grow up to be a missionary, despite not knowing exactly know what that meant or entailed. During my college years I was a part of Reformed University Fellowship, otherwise known as RUF, an campus ministry. It was then that I started to realize that I didn't have to follow the status quo. Those passions and gifts the Lord has given me weren't meant for me to live stagnantly. He molded my heart so that I would follow Him and use those gifts to bring others to Christ. I was in college getting a degree that would ultimately place me in a job, working 7-4 everyday, when I started to realize that wasn't the life the Lord intended for me. So, through lots of prayer, my ever growing desire to travel and my heart to love the way He loves us, the Lord brought me to the World Race. The World Race was incredible and also incredibly hard at times. But, the Lord asked me to step into a year of unknowns. And while I love spontaneity, I also love being in the know. And being in the know is not what the World Race is about. The World Race is about coming to the table to see what the Lord has for you. It's about living a life that exemplifies radical love. And it's about trusting Him in the unknown. The World Race was a turning point for me and my walk with the Lord. I started learning what it meant to actually be in a relationship with Him; to be His daughter and His bride. And I started learning what He was to me. My Father, my Provider, my Comforter, my Friend...and I could go on and on. Although the World Race was an incredible season of growth, He is asking me to continue diving deeper with Him and experience how much more He has to offer at His table. His grace, love, and mercy are never ending and I never want to stop learning how deep they go. I want to walk in His love and share it with the least of these. I don't want to live a complacent life. I want to use the gifts and passions He has given me to shine a light in the face of oppression. We are all called to go. And for me, the next step in going is attending G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain. At G42 I will learn more of what it looks like to live and love like Christ. G42 exists to empower leaders to go and make disciples through living a life of radical love. My desire in going to G42 is to learn from those who have gone before me. So, in this next season I am entering into, I am asking that you consider prayerfully partnering with what God will be doing in my life and those around me. You can partner with me by joining my prayer team. I will be posting prayer requests in the link at the top of the page to keep you informed. You can also partner with me financially. I am in need of $9,800 for the full 9-month program. I am currently at a little over $2,000 and need $3,800 before I can leave in 18 days. I fully trust the Lord will provide, so if you feel called to partner in either of these ways, thank you! The link to donate is www.g42leadershipacademy.org/donate or you just click the "donate" button at the top of the page. Type my name in the "appealed by" section. Thank you and love you guys! Hannah Hey you! Welcome to my first blog. This blog is where I will be sharing what is happening in my life and what God is doing while I will be away in Spain. My hope is that through this blog, you will be able to see and know what God is doing and teaching me. I want to be vulnerable and open about all aspects while I am away, including maybe the hard parts.
I hope that you will read these and feel encouraged and know that God is at work both in my life and yours as well. I would love prayer and encouragement whenever you have a chance! Feel free to read and share my future blogs! Love, Hannah |
